Around Chikodi

The newly developed Tirth of Shantigiri is near Kothali. The Ashram at village Kothali has a temple dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath. The ashram has facilities for Hostel, school in addition to boarding and lodging facilities. The Shantigiri Tirth is visible from the ashram and is at a distance of 1.5 Kms. The Tirth was developed in 1979.

Kothali

Kothali is a picturesque village situated in Chikodi taluk of Belgaum District in Karnataka. It is the birth place of one of the revered Jain saints called Acharya Deshbhushan Maharaj. Considering its sanctity, this village can be treated as one of the important centers of Jain history, where the Shri Shantigiri Tirth is situated. In the vicinity of this tirth lies an ashram devoted to Bhagvan Shantinath.

Ankali is situated about 16 km north of Chikodi. This place is surrounded by Eksamba in the west, Manjari in the east and Rupnayal in the south. Raghavendra Swamiji Math is the main attraction here.

Manjari

Manjari is located around 20 km south. Shirguppi and Raybag are the towns around this place. Ankli is only a short distance from Manjari. Chinchali, known for Jain temples, is 14 km away.

Shiraguppi

Shirguppi is a town 24 km north of Chikodi
Chinchali, a popular Jain pilgrim spot, is 12 km away. Ankli and Manjari are the nearby places. State Highway connects Shirguppi with Chikkodi, another famous Jain pilgrim center.

Hukkeri

Hukkeri, is a place of considerable antiquity. Archeological studies indicate that the place name Hukkeri is supposed to have been derived from Huvinkeri, means Street of Flowers. Good quality roses were grown here during the Adil Shahi times and the history of the place begins from the 14th Century. Evidences show light into the fact the place existed even before and was a center of the Jain and Shaivite cult. Hukkeri is around 20 km from Chikodi.
